Little Sweeties

I was lucky enough to be the mom in charge of planning and providing the Valentine's Day party for Jack's preschool class.  And, I was also the lucky mom to do the same for the Kindergarten class later that same day.  I have hearts shooting out of my ears.  It was absolutely sweet. Jack's class is hilarious.  I arrived early to set up the table with a Valentine craft and get the snacks ready.  The class was outside playing on their playground, but once they discovered I was inside, all they could do was stick their faces on the window to see what I was doing. All of them were watching me with little pig noses on the glass. They were totally excited.

They came in and washed their hands and sat in their seat to make Valentine hats.  Then we sat in a circle and read, "I Love You Because You're You" and my heart melted into a pink heart puddle as they all fixed their eyes on me and hung on every word I said.  They are so sweet.  Then we played pass the heart (like musical chairs).  I played a lovie little song and we passed the heart around the circle and whoever was holding it when the music paused would get a little felt heart to put in their pocket.  But, the joke was on me, because no one would pass the heart, they would just hold it tighter, and wrap their body around it as I begged them to pass it to their friends.  But everyone won and we moved on to have Valentine treats. I swept up the sprinkles and took Jack home to get ready for Greta's party.

Greta's Valentine's were so cute, and sealed with a kiss.  She picked out special Valentine cookies to give her teachers in pink boxes.  I even put Papa's favorite cookies in there, too. (He loved the flaky heart shaped cookies that have a sweet honey drizzle.)

Jack's Valentines were straight from the circus.  We filled the bags with cool animal crackers from Trader Joe's.  I think they were a big hit.  He wrote every one's name all by himself with his little tongue sticking out.

Jack and his class sit making Valentine Party hats. I think hats make a party rockin. You have to have hats.  Put 'em on kids.

Having treats.  You see the cool kids wearing hats.  Sorry, Jack. I love you anyway...and Soha and Jillian there, too.

Hats.
Now, in Greta's class party, I was given the task of supplying the goods to make the Valentine bags/boxes.  I came up with the idea of each kiddo making their bag look like themselves...we love each kiddo for their uniqueness.  Ivy is in Malaysia, so I made her bag and think she looks pretty cute. I pierced her ears.

By the time the class of 17 had made their bags and posed for this picture I was full on sweating and had a migraine. But they all look pretty cute, even if they don't all have ears or hats.  Now, lets fill them up with Valentines.

The kids had the most beautiful strawberry cupcakes. And they all ate the icing off the top, and then they spun out of control into the world with their parents. We love the little sweeties!
